East Omaha is best known for the airport and river border to Des Moines, Iowa, but this area of the city is a little-known gem for nightlife venues and great restaurants. The area of East Omaha is not as busy as downtown, but there are still enough people frequenting the bars and restaurants that it is exciting any night of the week. Since East Omaha is full of several different parks, the nightlife venues are spread apart by at least two blocks. This gives visitors a chance to leisurely visit each one. Nearly every street is well-lit and has at least one restaurant and bar. Another advantage of choosing this area of the city for a night out is the amount of special events here. There is always something unique and exciting happening. During the summer, most of the events are held in the parks. For added convenience, there are several hotels in East Omaha. This makes it much easier to get to the bars and other nightlife venues. Most visitors will want to stay more than one night to be sure to enjoy all this part of the city has to offer. The hotels in this area are safe and well-kept, making them an excellent choice. Nearly every restaurant in this city area is open late, making it the best choice for a late-night dinner followed by drinks. There are several main streets that have a few different bars, each with their own unique flair. Visitors will also enjoy mingling with the friendly residents of Omaha.
